Re: Help me please worried about sex and weight gain after partial
The surgery may help in the ab area - just be prepared that while you are recouperating you may get what is called "swelly belly" if you overdo it. I wouldn't let yourself worry about weight gain right now - concentrate on getting the treatment you need and taking care of yourself while you recover. I haven't gained any weight since my surgery in Nov - continued to lose on WW - but you can bet the first few weeks after I wasn't "dieting". I wasn't overeating but I didn't deprive myself of anything I may have really wanted...There wasn't much though since I was already in the healthy eating mode - does that make sense?
As far as sex - I know we are all different so it may not be the same for you when you have recovered - I have good days and "so-so" days as far as pleasure is concerned. It feels different inside now, but it's not necessarily bad different. I can orgasm just fine with external stimulation so I know stuff works - and sometimes we do that first for me and then he gets to finish with his the regular way. Does that make sense? Keep us posted on what the Dr says!

Re: Help me please worried about sex and weight gain after partial
I think some gain wt post op from sitting around eating, and you can control that. Otherwise it with no ovaries, related to hormones or lack of them. You should be OK there. A lot of women with sexuality changes (not all bad) attribute them to lack of the cervix. Hard to say if you'd notice a change, but things can be different. In the end you have to look at what you'll gain from the surgery and decide if that's right for you. Good luck with your decision.

Re: Help me please worried about sex and weight gain after partial
I had adenomyosis and I have lost weight steadily since my surgery. 15lbs in 3 and a half weeks, and I hear alot of others with similar stories. Even with the post op pain, its not that same horrible pain I had monthly and i know at the end of recovery this will be the best thing I ever did. I can't speak for the sex part yet, I know the urge is present, I just cant act on it yet

Re: Help me please worried about sex and weight gain after partial
I'm scared of swelly belly. I already have a swollen lower abdomen from the fibroids. I look about 4 months pregnant despite exercising 4 times a week. The sex thing doesn't worry me as much as it can only get better than it is right now. I have cervical pain and can't tolerate internal sex at all.

Re: Help me please worried about sex and weight gain after partial
Kward- I had adenomyosis and alot of preop swelling and bloating and swelly belly is no worse than that and when it's not swollen my tummy looks flatter than before so I know there's a light at the end of this tunnel. Your current swelling is perm, swelly belly is not, look at it like that. Also do you have confirmed fibroids? The size if those will take away alot of your swell immediately. And the cervix pain you mentioned, I had that too, getting a pap made me nauseaus it was so uncomfortable and sex was extremely painful, I can't speak for after yet but I know that pain before, I was glad to get rid of my cervix

Re: Help me please worried about sex and weight gain after partial
So far I have lost a few pounds, and I am 2.5 weeks post, on HRT. My pants are hanging off of me. I did not realize how much of a giant belly I had before from enlarged uterus due to fibroids. It surprises me when I look in the mirror and have a normal looking stomach.
No sex yet, but the interest in the possibility is definitely coming back. I try not to dwell on it too much for obvious reasons.
