Frustrated!

its been almost six months since I had my surgery and I still have pain in my lower right side right where my right overy was. The pain gets really bad at times and other times its just an annoyance. My Dr. has sent me to a gastrologist, a uroligist and every test I have had has come up negative. My Dr. has no idea what is going on the gastrologist say he thinks its just endo back or still. Has anyone else had any of the same problem? I almost feel like I am going crazy! nothing in particular triggers the pain. I can't have intercourse because it hurts so bad inside like nerves are exposed or something and then the next day I have side pain. Which thankfully I have an understanding husband who just wants me better. I am thankful the pain is not as bad as before surgery but at times it can be almost as bad and at least I knew why I was hurting before!

Re: Frustrated!

Blue Orchids - Sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well - and I wish I had some insight, but I am going through the exact same thing on my right side. My doc thinks its diverticulitis, it can't be because it feels like the same pain before my hysterectomy 5 months ago. (i do not have any cysts) -- hoping someone will post for you (and me!)
Feel better - and feel free to vent to me, I get it. And we aren't crazy.

Re: Frustrated!

Strangely enough, I just started feeling something like this as well. I am almost 10 months post-op now.

I would swear I still have an ovary because it feels like the pain I had from my cyst. I wonder if it's some kind of phantom pain?

I haven't contacted my doctor about it but will if it gets worse. Sometimes, for me, things like this kind of go away after a while and I hope it does for both of us!

Keep us posted if you find out anything or just let us know how you are doing.

Best wishes and

Re: Frustrated!

Well it makes me feel better just knowing I am not alone on this! My Dr thought it might be diverticulitis as well but the gastrologist said no I took antibiotics for it anyway. Mine feels the same way it did when I had my overy just not as intense. I asked my Dr about phanton pains and she said it could be but not for this long. My pain comes and goes too its when it comes I can't stand it lol! I will keep ya'll posted on what I find out if anything! Thanks for being there and letting me know I am not going crazy!

Re: Frustrated!

Alright ladies I got a phone call from my Dr. this morning and she said she was sending me to the Mayo Clinic I called her back and told her that the Mayo does not accept payment plan from my insurance and I am already overloaded with the medical bills from all the other tests that have been run, and asked about a specialist in Savannah. There are non available so she looked through my chart again and noticed that when I am on antibiotics the pain is not as severe. So she is treating me with another round of antibiotics for diverticulitis even though the gastroligist said it wasn't from that. Like I told her as long as I am out of pain but then i have been thinking I have been on antibiotics 6 times already this year, which worries me a little. So I am calling her in a week to see if there is any improvement. I hope you all are feeling better!

Re: Frustrated!

Just a thought but I know now & then I still get these gas pains that really scare me. If you have diverticulitis it sure could be that. Your intestines were moved all around for your surgery & maybe they settled in a way that causes pain sometimes. I just know for me I still get the gas pains. I hope you find any answer soon!

Re: Frustrated!

I had thought of that too! I am actually thinking it may be a muscle I have been walking 3 miles and it seems to be getting a little better still have moments of pain but its not near as bad as it was! I still have pain with intercourse but I see my Dr. on the 20th so hopefully she can figure that part out. Thanks y'all for all your help and support!

Re: Frustrated!

One option that you hadn't mentioned exploring is a pelvic floor physical therapist. One helped me so much with my adhesion issues after the hyst. when i thought every area had been explored. My doc. really fell short compared to the help she could offer.

Re: Frustrated!

Have you been examined for a hernia or adhesions? Adhesions unfortunately can't been seen on any test, but can be found by laproscopy.
Hernias are famous for being elusive unless they are incarcerated. Only 2 of mine showed up on a CT scan, but during surgery they were found to be huge, and it wasn't 2, it was 4. The pain from these things can drive you batty.

Re: Frustrated!

I get the same pain. During intercourse it hurts most of the time. My doc says that it is my scar tissue. Your scar tissue is very hard and takes time to soften and shape. He put me on Vagifem to help with softening my scar tissue. It seems to work most of the time. Other times i can't even stand up straight, the pain is so bad my knees buckle. Its been a rough 6 months, but i am hoping things start to get better. Maybe this will help. I know it helps when i know that others are going thru the same thing and i am not going crazy.
