Try to incorporate (if you aren't already) a stool softener to ease it; it has worked really well for me.

Re: Post DaVinci and wondering...

Another suggestion is to drink lots of water. I use Benefiber and Miralax under my doctors recommendations. Always check with them before using anything. Try to move some, that may help you. Hope you are feeling better. And everyone the two week recovery is so not true for so many of us. All you have to have is one complicating factor such as another medical condition and the two week thing is gone. I have multiple problems and I am still not healed at nine months. They all trigger each other so it makes it worse, knocks my immune system down, and here I come. I came up with my new nickname which is "Ms. Slow" to shut up a few co-workers who told me how fast their mother, sister, friend, etc, etc. healed in two weeks. Good for them, I am glad it was quick. Mine isn't and won't be and that is the reality of my life. I don't regret my decision but am realizing it is going to take me a longer time.

Post-Op Today 6/16

I just had Davinci with a hysterectoy and BSO (both ovaries/tubes). Decided this last minute at hospital. Was supposed to just do a R-ovary/R-tube but other things with uterus looked odd (fibroid). So, here I am ...stayed overnight at hospital. Glad to hear that I won't expect 2 weeks full recovery! I am just taking prescription 800mg Motrin and have other pain killer but haven't take it today (except at hospital this a.m.). Hoping that each day the discomfort will go away although I feel pretty good in general. My stomach feels like there's a huge pumpkin inside! Glad to know that I can sleep on my side too. Couldn't sleep a wink last night post-surgery (2:30pm).

Awww yes, the first night; I couldn't sleep at all but was so exhausted. Everyone heals so very different, that is one of the biggest things I've learned in all of this and that everyone has a story for you: "well, my friend's mom had it and ..." ugh.. LOL

Re: Post DaVinci and wondering...

It definitely will improve. I remember the first night I had trouble sleeping but after some Benadryl I really slept. Just take your meds and it should continue to improve.

Re: Post DaVinci and wondering...

Well, sisters, went for my 6 wk chk up and doc found that around the vaginal cuff is very "raw" and tender; so she swabbed it with some stuff Nitro something something LOL; and well, now that stuff is coming out of me and it's not pleasant. I also told her about that discomfort/pulling feeling we all talked about directly to the left of my belly button area; she said it will improve, but some areas experience more tugging and pulling than others during the procedure. Again, I am feeling a bit overwhelmed by these stories I am reading about getting back to normal day to day within 3-4 weeks; I am at week 6 and still very not NORMAL.
