TVH how long till your pain in vagina left?

I am 3 weeks post op with a TVH. Feel better except for pain in my vagina. Has anyone else had this? How long till that area inside the vagina swelling goes down?

Well you have 100's of little stitches in there that have to heal. Them being inflamed hurts. The easier you take it the better you should feel. Lots of small walks are good. It shouldn't be too much longer before that pain is gone for you too. Best wishes to you!

OK! Thanks so much! It is nice to hear that I am not the only one with this. I was getting panicky thinking of course that I am the only woman in the whole world still feeling pain down there! LOL!

I am sorry your still in pain. I have to be honest...I expected to have pain down there since I too had a TVH. At least like after child birth. But nope. not at all. I have not been sore down there ONE bit! Really shocked me too! Hope it's better for you soon!

I had a TVH with rectocele and perineal repairs 4 weeks ago. I still have some pain, handled by Tylenol and Motrin. Still taking care of myself, hope you do, too.

TVH total vaginal hysterectomy? Right? I had the other kind but yes I had 100's of little stitches in side where they took everything out. The put mess in also but lots of stitches that dissolve. Then you have the vaginal cuff stitches. That is why they say to take it easy because even if you are fine on the outside your inside needs a lot of time to heal all that.

Re: TVH how long till your pain in vagina left?

I was a very slow healer I guess but I even developed a burning pain sensation in my vagina I was going insane & suffered a lot! I even iced it & went to different Dr's nobody had an answer for me even though I kept both ovaries they are still not working all the way I feel dry in my interior, so they gave me premarin vaginal cream I guess that helped ,but also the time I start feeling better like 3 months after my surgery i also had vaginal Hyst.I don't want you to get discourage on the contrary I want to make you feel better by telling you how bad my situation was.Hugs.
