My Dr said it is different for everyone, but for me I just had light bleeding day of and spotting the first time I walked around. After that...nothing!!
I guess occasionally spotting for the first week or so can be normal. I would prepare for the worst and hope for the best!!!
I am on day 10 post op (TAH/BSO) and have only had one little bit of spotting. It was on either day 6 or 7 post op and I probably just overdid a bit that day. Other than that...nothing! I didn't even need a pad post op.
I had to use a regular pad for the first 3 weeks, had a discharge that was too much for a pantyliner. I had extensive adhesions so a lot of cutting, significant bleeding after surgery in hospital, developed 2 hematomas, one burst and we suspect it was leaking prior and could have been the cause of some of the discharge. All in all, keep a supply of pads and liners on hand just in case. I am 4 1/2 weeks post op now, had not had anything for the past week, today I have spotting...never a dull moment!
I had some spotting in the hospital. But I'm keeping the pads and pantyliners until August to make sure. I would hate to have to go buy some more if I give them away now. But I'm hoping not to have any more spotting or bleeding.
