TAH - High blood pressure and high cholesterol

I had my TAH nearly 11 weeks ago. Since my body automatically went into menopause my doctor told informed me that my blood pressure and cholesterol could both become elevated. I just had both checked today and they are both elevated.

Is there anyone who has experienced this and do you have any recommendations for how I might control it? I prefer doing things naturally. Is there a natural remedy for helping to control blood pressure and cholesterol?

Hopefully by now you've gotten some answers. I am 37 and have had hypertension for 6 years now. Trust me when I say this is NOT something to mess with! If you are overweight, losing just 10% of your bodyweight may help. However, if your numbers are high then meds are really the only way. It is the silent killer so eventhough you feel fine it is doing damage to your body. I am also a graduate nurse and will be taking my boards in a few weeks so I do have knowledge other than my own experiences.
