Re: bleeding at almost 3 weeks post op

I think its good you already have an appt, since the bleeding is new. Sometimes a stitch pops or something around then and the Dr can check that out for you. Let us know how it comes out at the Dr. Hope its only a minor glitch.

Re: bleeding at almost 3 weeks post op

Hi Canoeing,

Apparently (and I say apparently because nobody told me about this until it happened to me) around two to three weeks post op, if there's any drainage remaining inside your abdominal cavity it can spontaneously relase. All it takes is for the drainage to find the slightest opening in the vaginal cuff or "the vault" and a little bit of pressure and whoosh!

It is definitely best that you get this issue checked out ASAP, so I'm glad that you're going to see your doctor today. The fact that the blood wasn't bright red, you don't have pain, and that it has slowed down or stopped are all good indicators.

Try not to stress too much (I know that's easier said than done). Let us know how you make out!

Re: bleeding at almost 3 weeks post op

I had a little bleeding on one day when I over did it with just too much walking- then the next day it was gone. I too kept my ovaries and no more cervix or uterus.

I have continued to take it VERY easy ever since and I am 4 weeks post op tomorrow.

But it's good that you are seeing the doctor- take it easy!

Hope all is ok.

Re: bleeding at almost 3 weeks post op

OK Dr. said I had a small tear, he cauterize, with silver nitrate, and that was it , He said I can drive if I am up to it and get back to my normal activities, except straining and lifting, no intercourse for another 4 weeks, My DH and I have a 2 month trip to Alaska we leave on July 3, Dr. has no problem with me going, of course I still have to be careful, I do see him in 2 weeks

Re: bleeding at almost 3 weeks post op

I noticed slight spotting yesterday and this morning, bright red blood! Not a lot, but it's there. I'm two weeks post op (LAVH). Ovaries, uterus and cervix removed. I have an appointment today--thank goodness. I feel fine otherwise. Just think I did too much bending. Will be more careful.
