addicted to this site

Hi everyone, anyone else out there addicted to this website. My husband seems to be getting quite tired of me talking about histersisters. All I can think about is my upcoming TVH and I am comforted by reading and replying to posts. I mostly stay on pre op because I'm afraid to read anything to bad about post op. Is this normal to think about not much of anything else?

Re: addicted to this site

It's a major surgery and you need to get as much information as you can. It was helpful to me pre-op so I'd know what to expect. It's also been very helpful to me post-op so I know what is normal in my recovery. I know I bug my hubby with my hyster stories but yeah this has been the focus of my life for the last month or so. LOL

Re: addicted to this site

I think it starts with a simple quest for information and you get suck in by the bond of so many women going through the same issues and having the same questions. It is alot to unburden your deepest and sometimes very intimate fears on your friends and family. here we can truly just "let it all hang out". who wouldnt become addicted to that feeling of support. we are lucky to have the site!

Re: addicted to this site

I, too, am addicted to this site and am so happy I found it.

It is very comforting to be able to communicate with women who are going through the same experience. I have learned so much.

Re: addicted to this site

This place has been awesome for me. I've never had a place before where I could talk about what I go through. I didn't realize how alone I felt three weeks ago.

Re: addicted to this site

I feel the same way. I was searching for information when I started getting really anxious about my surgery and this was by far the best place to find all the information I needed and to see that I wasn't alone!

Re: addicted to this site

I know I'm addicted because I had my surgery 3/5/10 and I still get on this site on a regular basis. Probably just as much now as I did before my surgery.

I try to post my positive experience about my surgery as much as possible to help people that are all nerves like I was before the surgery.

This site was the must helpful place for me to find out the do's and don'ts and what to expect, what I would need at home.

There is a reason this is called hyster"sisters" because we are all sisters now in some way.

Good Luck ladies with upcoming surgeries. I'm am so glad I had mine. I had hardly any recovery pain.

Re: addicted to this site

I can relate to a lot of what you are saying!! I am addicted and my dh is sick of hearing about this site and anything else hyster related.
I think most men just dont understand how we are feeling!
I am one that needs to know every little detail good and bad so that I can mentally prepare for things.
I think I am ready!! I have 3 more sleeps until my surgery and so far I am fairly relaxed. I have my teary moments but nothing major. I have this strange fear of not coming out of the surgery, but then I got thinking today, how silly, all the sisters that I have been following through their journey have all made it to the post op side so I should quit worrying.
I am not sure I could have come this far without everyone here!!
