Health insurance is a joke! Approve/Denied

So on Tuesday I found out that isurance approved my hyster...then today I get a phone call they denied it all because they screwed up and lost a referral. So I have been on the phone all day trying to get this straightend out, and its still a mess. They say I was reffered for evaluation and not treatment....Seriously can you reffer someone and then expect them to no get treatment? Hopefully it all gets worked out before my surgery. The only good thing about this is I don't have time to deal with my emotions of haveing a hyster but now I have to be angry to get the point across That I saw the doctor they reffered me to....I didn't just call a random number and end up with some doc....I got the number from the insurance...Has anyone else had to deal with this? Whats the point of insurance if they aren't gonna do their job? I have talked to everyone under the sun. One person says its insurance's fault another says its the docs fault the other says its the reffereing docs fault and some how it's my fault....I just want to cuss them all out and scream very loudly....I DONT HAVE TIME FOR THIS!!! Their job is to make sure paperwork is in order before the approve something! Please if someone has been through this please help me out here!!

Re: Health insurance is a joke! Approve/Denied

I am sorry you had to deal with this complicated situation. I know insurance and approvals can get sticky!

Often times the problem turns out to be a coding error that can be fixed by the doctor's office.

I hope you were able to get everything fixed!

in there!
