thank you hyster sisters

It's been six years and I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who keeps the hyster sisters website up and running. It was invaluable to me then and I can see from the recent posts that it continues to provide support.

Re: thank you hyster sisters

I was wondering when does all the pain really go away and you feel 100 percent able to do everything again. Still have any limitatiions or notice any discomfort or pain or can you do everything now you did before your surgery? did you ever have any concerns w/prolapse or any complications later down the road.I had a TAH on may 28.Havnt really heard much from long term post op hyster sisters.Look forward to hearing back!

Re: thank you hyster sisters

My hysterectomy was a year ago, today, and except for the menopause at 35, I feel fine. One thing to take note of, though. The doctor isn't kidding when she says to do weight-bearing exercises after the surgery. I let myself go this year, and now it's going to be a lot of work to get back to normal. The only thing that still lingers, is the pain in my scars - both inside, and out. Not always, but when I'm constipated (internal scars) or when I've lifted something too heavy (external scars). Still, the hysterectomy was a good decision.

Re: thank you hyster sisters

Thanks Annapolly for posting.
It's good for us early on post oppers to read stuff like that.

When did you start weight bearing exercise? At what point? I'm doing my 5lb-ers at this point in post op--5 weeks.

I really don't know when to pick up the pace without injuring something.

Thanks!!
