pain and bad mood swings 4 weeks post op

Hello all I am 4 weeks post op TVH and feel like Im not where Im supposed to be by now, I know I over do myself sometimes because I usually end up paying for it for a couple of days laid up on the couch. I also still have alot of pain, and very bad emotional mood swings. I am on enjuvia but I don't feel that it is working. I called my gyn and she said just keep taking it an see what happens, it has gotten so bad that it is starting to case problems in my family. I just don't know what I can do to make everything better.

Re: pain and bad mood swings 4 weeks post op

Your family should realize you just have had your whole life changed and they need to be more sympathetic, and not expect so much out of you. I can speak from experiance. I go thru that too, but I in the end, get lectures from my hubby, well your not doing this or your not doing that, and it's been this long, just wait till someday those men get their insides yanked out, then see how they feel and what they think of us would change! I am sorry you are going thru that, I do too, and it is hard for me to have 3 girls 2 teenagers, that always want to go, and they dont realize just becuase I came home in 3 days, dont mean I'm all well yet. My hubby has been good most the time but sometimes he drives me crazy, so your not alone on that, take your time at getting well and dont push so hard. let them have a fit make them do things for you. Thanks its glad to know that someone knows how I feel. I too also have kids I have 3 one is 16, 10, and 8. It seems really hard for them to understand I can't do the things that I did before, atlest not right now.

I don't know if it is just the hormones or depression but It gets really hard for me to cope with things sometimes. I don't go back to the gyn until the 22.

Its really good talkn with someone that understands.
Thanks, Jody

Jody,

I agree with Chrissy! Husband's don't understand what we are going through. I am 4 weeks post today after having my uterus removed. It still hurts when I cough or sneeze. There are times I get moody due to the fact that I am not back to normal. My gyn yells at me and makes me understand that I just had major surgery and I need to relax.
No matter how the people around you make you feel, tell yourself if you overdo it, you will be the one that suffers.

Good Luck,
Karen

Re: pain and bad mood swings 4 weeks post op

i went through a couple weeks, between 2-5 weeks post-op i think, where my irritability factor was super-high. had big-time mood swings. that seems to have leveled off some, here at 6-7 weeks. but then again, i feel a little more down and flat than typical -- and have been on antibiotics for the past 7 days. our bodies are both resilient and sensitive, all at once. go easy on yourself right now, and hang in there. seems like there is such rapid progress the first two weeks of recovery, then a bit of a plateau where progress isn't so easily measured from one day to the next. lots of things can contribute to the moodiness, and on top of all of it, you're still healing and your body still needs extra rest.

hang in there, and know that better days are coming. speak plainly with your husband and/or kids and continue to ask for their patience and support and help. be hopeful that things will level out soon!

Well now do I not only have pain from my hyst. I have got a kidney stone, I have a kidney disease where I keep stones but I was so in hopes they would hold off until I made it through the recovery, but didn't happen. I may end up in the er tonight. Last year I had 10 surgeries because of the kidney stones and so far this year Ive had 4. Shew don't know how much more pain I can take..........:bigcry

no doubt you've wished 100 times there were an easier path for getting rid of the stones. i hope you get relief from the pain and feel better soon.

Well I'm back home now after a couple of nights stay in the hospital again.. grrr. What I thought was a kidney stone turned out to be my appendix, so I had 2 have emerancy surgery to remove them. Now I'm back to barely getting around and even more pain. Im running out of things that can go wrong that they can take out that I don't have to have to live.lol I feel like I am falling apart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
