Question About Premarin Pill ( Estrogen)

Well I just had to switch over to this new med for my estrogen, so far I have had no odd things happen while taking it, so far. Ok so but what I worry about is side effects of the drug. It is a risk I think for me, to use it, due it says it can cause trouble with Diabetes type 2 wich I have, and then I also know it says it can create trouble for your liver, and my levels on my liver are off sometimes, and dr. doesn't know why? Well I am wondering if the risk of all these side affects from the drug is been a reason weather or not you use it, yourselves? Or do you use and like something else. I dont know what way to go on this, I do
have a dr. apt. today to talk to a dr. about it. I just dont know tho for me if it is right or not. How do i determin the risks that way if you know waht I mean?
thanks, Crissy
ps, this is all so new to me, sometimes I wonder if this is why some women opt out on taking estrogen, and maybe it explains why my SIL is so darn cranky she is in her 50's I think lol........ ps, I'm not kidding on that part!

Re: Question About Premarin Pill ( Estrogen)

Im on premarin too... a very low dose since I have a blood clotting disorder... I went a month with nothing and felt like i was going crazy... i live in phoenix and the heat here doesnt help the hot flashes... so i opted for the estrogen. i'm concerned about side effects as well but the craziness without the estrogen seems to out weigh the drug side effects as of right now. It may be worth talking to your doc (GP or endocrinologist) about the long term side effect and to have your liver enzymes checked more frequently. I hope youre feeling better and get some answers! *hugs*
