Possible TAH BSO Wishing for TT too?

My Doctor is suggesting TAH BSO because of prolapsed uterus and to help with incontinence.

Had bladder sling done twice still having problems but sling seem to still be in place.

Need lipo and abdominal muscle repair but I am unsure if it would be wise to do it all at the same time? If the doctors' would?

Does anyone have any suggestion or which posting string I should research this?

Re: Possible TAH BSO Wishing for TT too?

I don't have experience in the area as mine was an LAH BSO. I think your doctor will be the one to decide whether or not he'll be able to do it all at the same time.

Try the 'Seach' button on top of the Board...

And I hope more 'sisters' see your thread.

Re: Possible TAH BSO Wishing for TT too?

Cuddles74 - I realize this is rather late getting to you but I just discovered this thread and post. I don't know if you have made any decisions yet or, indeed, have already had the procedure, but for what it's worth I had both a TAH and a tummy tuck at the same time and I am so glad I did! I'm 3 weeks post op and feeling great. Both my OB surgeon and my plastic surgeon are accustomed to "tag teaming" on this procedure, in fact, my plastic surgeon Often does his tummy tucks in conjunction with other abdominal procedures.

It was so easy to arrange. I had consultations both physicians and their offices worked out the schedule based on my preferences. I went to the plastic surg the day before and got marked up. The OB followed his lower incision mark though not making it the incision as long and the marking indicated. My OB doc did her thing and then the plastics doc scrubbed in and extended the incision and did his work.

Recovery has gone very well and the great thing about having them done together is that psychologically I fell like I'm recovering from the tummy tuck and the hysterectomy is almost an after-thought. The tummy tuck looks great and it's good to know that I won't have to face additional surgery. I needed the hysterectomy. I wanted the tummy tuck. Doing them together was a great decision for me.

Re: Possible TAH BSO Wishing for TT too?

I am a week out from having them both done as well. I am also glad that I did them both! One SUPER great perk is that your gyno can keep you in the hospital longer then your plastics Dr so it is more comforting that can stay looked after a bit longer. My only down fall was that my garment wasn't measured right so the fit is off, I am going to sew it so it fits better. I also had lipo in my thighs, went for the whole gusto! I am on here looking for, info on recovery, what I can and can't do. There are days that I feel great and then days when the life is sucked out of me. Good Luck To All!
