7 months post op TAH and feeling good!
Hi Ladies,
Well I am now at 7 months post op of a TAH with one ovary removed and I am doing really good.
I have been horseback riding everyday for almost the last four months and have a lot more energy.
I had a pretty uneventful recovery with no major issues to complicate matters.
I am so happy that I have no more cramping, bleeding, PMS etc and am looking forward to being able to travel more and basically enjoying life to the fullest.
The only downside though is the night sweats but even they are not too bad. Right now I can't tell whether it is a night sweat or hot flash or just the fact it is 90 degrees outside and has been for weeks.
I am so glad I had my hyster!

Re: 7 months post op TAH and feeling good!
I get a hot flash at night-then start freezing cause my skin is wet-pull the blanket over me and then wake up sweating again.Still dont want hrt-always get enough sleep anyway-by the way do you know with hot flashes are they on one month and then go away for awhile? I know everyone is different-just wondering if thats usually the pattern?

Thanks Butterfly....I appreciate that.
No Cassie; mine do not have any kind of pattern....you might want to post a new thread addressing your concerns.

lisa, i LOVED this update!! keep up the good healing, and enjoy your rides! i'm finally cleared for riding. first i go on vacation with my family in just 9 days, so i'm not going to ride before that -- will haul my saddle home this week to clean up so it's ready for when vacation is over. can't wait to see what my mare thinks about wearing it again, LOL! if the roundpenning show is any indication...well, we've got some reacquainting to do!
take care!

Sue,
Enjoy your vacation and your ride when you are finally able to.
I found out my horse has ringbone and we are experimenting with his feet by using rocker toe shoes. I hope it helps.

Lisa,
Thank you so much for posting!! I really like when Sisters post their recovery.
It gives us hope for the future and our healing progress.
So happy that you healed well without complications!!
Sorry for your night sweats. Hopefully they will get better. I have one every now and again, right about when I would have my cycle.
Please keep in touch and let us know your progress!

Re: 7 months post op TAH and feeling good!
Sunshine: You're welcome....I wanted to illustrate to all those sisters out there that there are good surgeries too.
I had a rough 20 yrs with my periods and when my doctor told me in December that the fibroids had gotten larger; I knew I had to make a decision.
I am so glad I did....true from time to time I think of what could have or might have been but I also think of the 20 yrs of pain etc...it balances out it in the end. However I was never able to bear any children of my own; which has its own degree of sadness but I know I could always adopt or do foster care....
Just keep a positive attitude and it will all work out in the end....pamper the Princess!
