Post Op Hysteroscopy & D & C

Hi - I just had a hysteroscopy & D&C on Wednesday (7/21/10) and my ob/gyn said I would be better by today (friday) but, I'm having a lot of cramping this morning. I have PCOS so normal periods for me are rare, so to know if this is a normal cycle cramping is hard to say.....and aside from a wicked migraine yesterday, I only felt a little bloated. Today is a different story and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I have heard and read of others who felt "normal" the same or next day and wondered if that will ever happen to me again. After 3 months of cramping and bleeding leading up to Wednesday's surgery, I had high hopes of relief on the other side, but I'm getting discouraged. To be fair, my doctor did say that in some cases, this is used as a diagnostic tool and that it's not always a cure, but I wanted to be in the percentage of cures, not continual treatment. Need encouragement!!! Thanks!

Re: Post Op Hysteroscopy & D & C

Hi loves to swim22,
I have had the same procedures done and what you are going through sounds very similar to what i went through. It took me about 4 full days to feel back to normal so I hope you start to feel better soon. Unfortunately I was one of the unlucky one who are now about to have a hysterectomy cause the procedures they did before were not successful. I will pray that you will be one of the lucky ones! Keep your chin up and keep posting, the women on here seem to be wonderful!

Re: Post Op Hysteroscopy & D & C

Thank you! When is your surgery? I will be praying for you too! I am hoping that this is temporary and that it will be successful, but I broke down this morning and had a good cry and now I feel better. I hadn't done that before now and I think it was long overdue. I also lost my father-in-law recently so I think that had a lot to do with it. I miss him. He was a good guy! Anyway - thanks for the encouragement. I appreciate it. Let me know how you're doing. =)
