other tests prior to surgery

I have been diagnosed with a large fibroid tumor the size of a grapefruit, and enlarged uterus. I'm scheduled for a dv hysterectomy Aug 11. In reading other posts, I like the suggestion of getting a bone density and hormone level baseline done prior to surgery. Are there any other tests you would recommend? I've had an ultrasound (abdominal, trans-vaginal), biopsy and blood work to rule out cancer (thank God, it's benign!).
I have a couple of weeks before surgery and want to make sure I'm not missing something - or asking for something that will make recovery easier. Thanks for all the support!!!!

I too had my TAH because of large fibriods. I did have my hormone levels tested but that's because I asked for it. I wanted to make sure I wasn't already starting menopause. My levels were fine. I ended up having to have a full bikini incision because one fibroid was the size of a cantelope. It was a longer recovery then I had hoped for but there was very little pain and no complications.
