TLH: Pre Op today now surgery cancelled

My emotions are a mess I am a little angry and somewhat happy that my doctor cares about his patients enough to not take risk. My doctor was unhappy with my lab test results for my blood work ; so he said he is going to cancel my surgery which was scheduled for 7/28 for at least 3 months.

It is understandable that your emotions are on a roller coaster. It is wonderful that your Dr is using caution but the waiting does not get any easier. All of us are here for you.

I'm sorry your surgery has been cancelled but it sounds like you have a good doctor and he's looking out for your health. Hang in there! We're always here for you!

So sorry, I just went through this, lab work came back, iron too low and my surgery is next week now!! It will fly by, they just have your best interest at heart. You will be in my prayers!!

I totally under stand that it is emotional I too would be crying. My prayers are with you. I cried today as the nurse was telling me of all my appointments and when I got off the phone with her I cried. hugs to you

crying can be very cleansing.

Our support goes out to you. It is best that your doctor gets your bloodwork up to par because you need as many healthy cells as possible to work on healing post-op. In the long run, you'll appreciate being on the healthier side of the spectrum after the surgery. I understand the disappointment, especially after waiting and getting yourself mentally prepared. I'm sending hugs your way.

what do u mean ur bloodwork was not good?

I am anemic and high white blood count with a tox liver reading of .2, does this mean i won't be able to have a hysto till i am healthier too?

I think the bad bloodwork results can often be due to the problem that requires a hysto.

i dunno, i am no expert yet, i don't even have a date yet.

but i do know how it feels to be booked in for surgery and then have it cancelled on u. My daughter had open heart surgery as a baby and we had an op cancelled at the very last moment after she was all prepped and that was devasting to have to go home with her and no op done and to wait for the call to come back.

So I really really feel for u.

stay strong and i guess....take lots of iron tablets?
