Thank you for sharing!!!
Hello I am getting a lot of good advice from all of the posts. I was not happy with my Dr telling me that he wanted to start lupren shots on me. After a lot of research i was very confused on why he was telling me this. I am 41 and am done with child bearing years. I had surgery on 4-29-10 for an Laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy, Laparoscopic ablation of endo (not knowing I had) Laparoscopic bilateral tubal ligation, DNC, hysteroscopy, novasure ablation, transobturator tape sling monarc with cytoscopy. I don't have a period any more which is great but I have constant pain 24/7. My old Dr. suggest it could have something to do with my bowels and had me schedule a colonoscopy. The results were normal. He said again I need Luoren shots. I asked for another ultra sound to see if he missed something. He called with the results to info me that I have adenomyosis as well as endo they found during surgery. and again lupron shots needed to be started. I was not comfortable with this mainly because I do not want any more children and because I have never been able to take birth control (it gave me constant bleeding) Lupron shots are usually prescribed with a birth control pill. I just had a gut feeling that this is not for me. I decided to go for a second opinion and I really liked this Dr. She was very understanding. She explain due to me being 41 and passed having babies. She would not recommend the lupron shots. If I were 48 or 49 most definitely she would have me take the risk and start the lupron shots because it would buy me some time to get to menopause, but because I am 41, 10 years is one hell of a band aid to use. She said that I was a classic case for why women need hysterectomy's. I am relived that she agreed with me about the lupren shots and was hoping there was another treatment to try, however as we all know your options are limited. I tried alternative medicine as well, and nothing is working. I am scheduled for a total hysterectomy for 8-20-10. I would like to thank everyone for all there stories. Because of this web-site I have learned so much about this condition and I feel very educated and relived that I am not the only one having certain problems associated with this condition. I am looking forward to getting to know my husband again the way things use to be in the bedroom
