Question about PAP results prior to hyster

Okay. So two months ago I went to the health department for my yearly and to get my yearly supply of birth control pills. It was the worst exam I have ever ever ever had and it wasn't the nurse's fault persay. She couldn't find my cervix. This is when they found my cyst and referred me to my doc. They did go ahead and do a PAP smear though.

Had my hyster and doodling along alright.

My phone rings today and it's the nurse from the health department with the results of my PAP. It was negative but she wanted me to come back in for another PAP because "some cells didn't transfer". She said it wasn't a good PAP but it wasn't a bad PAP. I tried to get her to explain what "cells not transferring" meant but she really couldn't say, whether my lack of understanding or her lack of words, I don't know. I explained that I had a hyster, no cervix kept and would I still need her to check me. She said probably not, she would see if she can get the results of my pathology from my hyster.

Should I be worried? I mean, I know my cyst had started to adhere to my uterus, so could that throw off the PAP? Does it matter now that I don't have a uterus/cervix?

I know I should have my "vault" checked every so often. I still plan on bringing this up with my doc. I don't know the results of my pathology because I've always been told "no news is good news" and I'm seeing him on Aug 9th anyway.

I don't know. Just... blargh. So... what do you think? Help help :P

Question about PAP results prior to hyster

I agree no news is good news. The pap is testing for abnormal cells on your cervix, and now they have your cervix to biopsy. I got my "bad" pathology results for all 3 of my biopsys within a week. If they found something bad they would have told you already. I was told I still need to have pap tests and they said they swab the top part of the vagina. That might just be for my case only, maybe not for everyone. Hope this makes you feel better.
