Post OP too early?

Hi, I had a TLAVH and rectocele and perinial repairs on 7/7/10.
Initially, my belly felt great! The pain was all isolated to the repairs. I even told my husband if it wasn't for the repairs I think I would feel great. This was still the case a week ago, for the most part. I was having some twinges and things in my belly but nothing I would call painful.
I had my post op last week at 4 weeks, I was told to "behave" for 2 or 3 more weeks. When I asked when I need to return, she told me she would see me next year. The exam she did hurt so bad!!
My problem is...now there is pain that was not there before for me to ask her about.
I am 5 weeks post op today and last night I was laying in my bed crying. I had a pain that felt like it was in my bladder, it almost felt like contractions, it would start slow and get intense then it would taper off. When it got intense I felt like there were lightening rods in my belly. I have been really swollen (started after I saw the dr) so I don't know if there is pressure that would be causing the pain.
I had the surgery because my uterus was prolapsed, the pain I felt last night I haven't felt since my last pregnancy.
Is it normal to have pains like this, this long after surgery? And to have them just start?

Re: Post OP too early?

Any new pain needs to be reported to your doctor. Please call her. She may want you to come in. Good luck, and I hope you feel better soon.

Hi Tonia

If you're having new pain, you should call your doctor, just for peace of mind. I had some new pains that cropped up over time from over-doing it and from gas pains, but it's really important to know if there's something needs attention or not.

I hope today is a better day for you and that you're able to get into the doctor soon.
