Pressure while peeing

Sorry, sounds gross. It is 2 wks since my uterus was stolen... It doesn't hurt when i actually go to the bathroom but, it hurts b4 i have to go. I have pressure below my bellybutton and when i finally go it seems to take awhile. Since i do not have any burning or stinging i am hoping i do not have a bladder problem? Is this normal? Also, i cannot walk without hurting. When does it get better? I walk hunched over. Any comments would be appreciated.
Best to all of you out there.

Pressure while peeing

You don't say which hysterectomy procedure you had. Am I assuming correctly that you had an abdominal? I had a TVH, so can't speak from experience, but I would imagine with that type of surgery your tummy is pretty sore and it hurts to stand up straight. Even with the TVH I felt as though I was walking funny. Each day it gets a little better. Getting all the rest your body needs to heal will help alot.

As far as the urinating goes, if you are concerned you might want to talk to your doc about it. They don't mind being bothered with your concerns. One thing I did to help in that department was drink lots of 100% cranberry juice. That helps prevent bladder infections. Also you should be drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day. The pressure you are feeling is probably from the internal incisions. Your bladder has to be moved to get to the uterus also. Let's face it...it's just sore in there and does not feel normal right now. But, do call your doctor if you are worried about it.

Best wishes to you!

Pressure while peeing

I am17 days post-op having an adominal hyterectomy with tubes and ovaries gone. It does hurt to urinate and the pressure before a BM is really bad. I find that if I go to the bathroom to urinate more often it does not hurt as much. I think letting the bladder fill up too much puts too much pressure on my abdomen.
As far as standing up straight, I started doing well about the 14th day. Somedays I feel better than others, today I sneezed really hard and I have been uncomfortable all day. Hope things get better soon.

pressure

Hi thank you for your reply's. I had a abdominal hyst. I feel better today, my little guy said i was walking better. I know it takes time. It's just frustrating. I drink a lot of water, ginger ale and sometimes cranberry juice. Im not crazy about the taste with the cranberry. I do not have the sensation to pee like i did b4. The pressure maybe, b/c of drinking so much and than when i do have to go the pressure is there and hurts a lot. My doctor only had me come in 2 days after the surgery to remove my staples. I am not suppose to see him until 11/13 which is 4 wks from the time i saw him last. I read how a lot of women go back for a 2 wk ck up? Is that the norm? My doctor also did not tell me when i can drive. Im afraid to even try it yet. I will give him a call today. I want so bad to go back to normal. I was suppose to get a fibroid removed from the cavity of my uterus via vaginal hysteroscopic myomectomy, D & C and endometrial ablation. Instead i woke up with my uterus taken. I have come to grips with this but, in the back of my mind im saying was it really necessary? He said he was working on removing it for 1 1/2 hours and it was too big? B4 i was operated on he said it was only 2 inches. So i have a hard time wondering if he didn't want to be bothered with all the procedures he had planned? Is that bad for me to question? My doctor was highly recommended but, is new to me. I have read on the web that it is suppose to be very easy to remove a submuscol fibroid. any similiar story's out there?

Pressure while peeing

Hi,

I had a PVH on Oct 16th and have the same sensations you speak of. I think that what's happening is that our bladder is shrinking down as we go potty and this causes our organs that are stitched from surgery to move around with it and this causes the pressure feeling and the pain. I also have this sensation with a BM and it's the same thing happening with our colon, shifting things around that have been operated on.

IMHO

Pressure while peeing

Rose,

I had pressure and pain before peeing, too. It's taken weeks to go away and I would say it didn't disappear completely until this month, six months after surgery. I would call the doctor just to be sure, though.

Be sure to ask for a copy of your surgical report to find out what happened. It could be your fibroid was 2 inches, which is big for a fibroid (even though some women here have giant ones). Remember the normal uterus is only the size of your fist. It could be your fibroid wasn't submucosal after all, or something like that. Your surgical report should have more details. Doctors aren't perfect, but sometimes they do find things in surgery that weren't what they expected, too. It's not wrong to ask questions. Always ask!

I didn't go back until 4 weeks after having my stitches out; it's not unusual. But call them anytime with questions. Don't worry about driving until you feel up to it and then get the doctor's permission first. Just rest yourself, please. You've been through a lot.

It's good to know that i am not in this alone. I appreciate all your comments.

I would love my surgery report. Can i get that from my Dr. or do i have to get it through the hospital?

I can't believe it took 6 months for you to feel back to normal when going to the bathroom. So what i have read is between 6 months up to 1 year we will feel better? One good thing, i use to get my period every 21 days along with getting anemic and always so tired. Since my hyst i am less exhausted and tired. So i guess that is one good thing so far. However, it was really weird but, the day i would have gotten my period was the worse day for me since the hyst. I had constant cramping all day long and i could hardly walk. I was worrying if that is what i am going to feel like when my period would be due every month? But, luckily it was only 1 day feeling like that. Anyone out there still feel there would be periods???

Do you know how long it takes to fully recover from this?

Good night for now. Thank you and Take it easy.........
