Re: Insomnia?

Yes, But I had that problem before surgery. I take sleeping pills but its not helping. Have you tried melatonin? Your body makes it. Some time it lacks it. I know I had to take it but it didn't work for me but my daughter it does.

Re: Insomnia?

I am having the same problem. I think that I am tired and go to bed at the same time as my DH and get out of bed an hour later after lying there the entire time awake. I did not have this problem before surgery three weeks ago. I always fell right to sleep, I may not have stayed that way all through the night but never had the insomnia that I have now. The other night I was up until 5 am. That is so not like me at all.

Insomnia?

I have my days and nights mixed up because of the insomnia. You aren't alone. It's typically 3-4 am before I fall asleep these days. Never had this before surgery. Now have 2 sleeping pills to choose from, one gives me a headache and the other may as well be a mint. I feel your pain.....I truly do. Lets hang in here together! Mean ole mister insomnia!!!

Re: Insomnia?

during the first part of my recovery i was like that, i would stay up till 3 or 4, then fall asleep and not wake up till after noon, sometimes 1 in the afternoon!....it was just weird...thankfully, now that I am 8 weeks I am starting to get straightened back out....i am having a few nights of insomnia, instead of every night....

Re: Insomnia?

I'm hoping once I go back to work and get in to a "routine" it will work itself out.

Doc offered me sleeping pills, but I declined.

Re: Insomnia?

yep. for me its the 3-5am window. i still have pain, although nothing compared to the first few days. I find that I just have trouble falling asleep period. The first few nights i had some terrible nightmares and i ended staying awake because I didn't want to have more weird dreams. Today is day 7 for me. I hope I sleep tonight. I just haven't had one full night of sleep yet.
