Re: Pain Relief?

Heat seemed to make me very uncomfortable. Maybe because it's so hot here right now. lol.
I didn't use ice after I was discharged, but for some reason certain pressure helped my pain. If I have a pillow against my stomach and between my knees when I sleep I won't wake in pain like I do without it. I do not have any abdominal incisions though, this was more like the support or light pressure helped.

Re: Pain Relief?

I like an ice pack on my belly, sometimes along with a heating pad on my lower back.

Sleeping with a soft pillow against my belly helps too.

Re: Pain Relief?

My Dr advised me to use heat as it brings blood to the area and promotes healing

Re: Pain Relief?

Heat made me feel so much worse....Ice made things feel better....

I think everyone is different as to what helps and what doesn't .... talk to your doctor if you have concerns, I am sure he will give you his opinion as to what is best....
