Monday fast approaching

I know this will sound very childish but I don't think I am handleing this cancer thing to well. I had more tests ran yesterday and the GYN/ONC was going to call me today to discuss the results and I was so scared to hear what he had to say I did not answer the phone all day. He called 8 times. He never left a message so I am thinking it must not be real great news as I think he would make sure to leave a message. Really thinking about cancelling the procedure not ready to do this. I know it is really a dumb idea but I am not ready to start with this. I have a friend telling me definitely don't have anymore surgery and It will kill me if I do and then I have other friends telling me if I don't have it then it will kill me. God, I have never been so unsure in my life, plus confused makes for a great brain addlement. I just can't think what direction to go in, wish I had the answers but I don't and I guess I am hoping for some advice here ladies. Thank you for all the 's and prayers I really have needed them.

Dawn,
No one can tell you what to do, but IF and I say IF you are dealing with cancerous cells, then Dawn......you can't let this go.

Look, we know how terrifying this all is, and if there was another way other than surgery to deal with this, then how course you would want to do that, but Dawn, you are going to have to hear what the oncologist has to say at some point.
Just because he didn't leave a message does not necessarily mean it was bad news either.

I would hate to see you back out of this Dawn, but perhaps maybe what you should do is seek another opinion. But please dont' just leave this go.

If this was your mother, sister or daughter Dawn, you know you wouldn't want them to leave this go, right?

When I took sick last year, I waited 2 weeks to go to the doctor. I knew in my mind something was very wrong, and I kept thinking it would go away, and I didn't want to hear what it was. But eventually my sisters pretty much threatened me that if I didn't go they would drag me there.

We always think the worst and its hard not to, but please remember that you were being checked every couple of weeks, and the change in the cells has just occured now, so I really think perhaps this is very early stage Dawn.

I hope you won't cancel your surgery, but if you must then I really hope you will seek a second opinon. The decision is yours, its your health and your body and you have to do what you are comfortable with.

Keeping you in my prayers
Hugs,
Maria

I hope this finds you feeling a little less anxious about your situation. While this cancer thing can be overwhelming, it isn't going to get better on its own. The good news is that your follow-up has been very intentional and this hasn't been growing for a long time. Also, according to my doctor friends, cancer that is fast growing - while scary - is often more responsive to treatment. Your doctor sounds like he/she is on top of things and really has your best interests at hand. The anxiety can be horrible and I pray that you will find peace and assurance in the midst of your unsettling days and nights.

Monday fast approaching

Take a deep breath and pick up the phone when it rings. You have got to know what is going on within your body because this will not just go away on it's own. I know it is hard, but with us praying for you and you keeping your faith, you CAN do this!!! Once you have all of the info, you will hopefully be able to make a very clear decision that you will be comfortable with.
Sending hugs and prayers!!
