Re: I'm beyond frustrated and feel awful

Had to catch up as I haven't been able to use a computer for the last several days. I agree with everyone else, keep pushing and keep asking questions. It has taken me almost one year post surgery to finally, finally have an answer. And believe me, in the meantime I got to see tons of docs who couldn't find an answer. There is a reason for the problems you are having and they need to find them. Best of luck with your MRI today(I think you said it was today) and best of luck getting the answers you need. I can tell you that I almost gave up before getting the diagnosis for my problems. It is worth the effort because then you can get some relief.

Ok. Thank you for the suggestions! I will have to get a little better before I attempt the MRI again but I will look into the open one. I will never be able to do that other one. I hope you all are doing well.

Re: I'm beyond frustrated and feel awful

Thanks for your continued support ladies! I can't believe what a nightmare all of this has been. Yesterday I called my doctors office to ask for a refill on percocet, waited all day for an answer, only to have his nurse call after he left saying to stop taking percocet and start taking tylenol! I have tried Tylenol for this in the past and it didn't end up dong anything. So, I called to make an appointment for urgent care. Shortly after making the appointment I started vomiting and felt ridiculously dizzy. Apparently I was dehydrated so they gave me fluids, some anti-nausea drugs and sent me on my way. This morning I had an abdominal ultrasound, which will hopefully shed some light on all of this. My appointment to go over the results are on Thursday and I'm taking DH in to give me some back up.

The doctor I saw in Urgent care was amazing. When I told her about my doctor telling me to take tylenol he called him an *** and gave me a prescription for Percocet none the less. She said that if he has an issue with her writing the prescription to have him give her a call and she'll set him straight. I LOVE IT!

Re: I'm beyond frustrated and feel awful

Some doctors need a kick in the .....! I mean really, you are in severe pain and they think Tylenol will help? I am glad you went to the urgent care center. I would definitely try to drink as much as you can. It is really easy to dehydrate when you are feeling so bad. I know that almost every time I have gone to er I have been dehydrated. Hope you get some answers and some relief from all this. I totally relate to how much of a nightmare this can be because I have been there and am still working my way out of it. Just keep on pushing and keep on asking the questions. It is the only way to get some relief and some answers and a plan to help you.

Sea, just to add my own experience: last year I attempted to have an MRI and freaked out after 5 minutes! I had never had any clasuterphobic tendancies before, so I was completely shocked.

I went back a few weeks later, with a sedative (ativan, I think) and had no problem with the MRI. I was fully aware, but just didn't care that I was in that freaking tube!!! It was weird. Mid-way through the MRI I began to feel a little bit of anxiety. I mentioned it to the nurse who was monitoring me, he kicked up the meds, and I was back to my no-worries zone. It was great!!

I managed to get through it with minimal fuss. So, if an open MRI isn't available to you, give the sedative a try. It really worked for me.

Re: I'm beyond frustrated and feel awful

I sure do hope you feel better soon! It is not fun to feel so bad for so long.

Uterno Thanks for letting me know that. It sounds like I will have to take something. I just spend months getting off sedatives so I am not real happy about having to take them again though. How did things get so complicated?

Re: I'm beyond frustrated and feel awful

Hopefully they can give you something to help just for the MRI. It is amazing how complicated things get. I have discovered for a fact that everything in my body is so sensitized to pain that if one thing hurts everything else decides to come join the party. It is so fun having a really sensitive system. One doc did explain that part of my problem may be related to sudden surgical menopause and the resulting changes in my chemistry as a result. that in addition to other conditions that also make me more sensitive.
Hope you feel better. sending tons of
