Swelling and Pain - almost 5 months postop

Saw my doc today for the extreme swelling and pain I am having, that has increased in intensity the last few weeks. My initial recovery was smooth and fast, so this has been a bit of a shock. No signs of infection at all, but at the end of each day I am incredibly swollen and I have constant pain and sensitivity around the incision area. I am being sent for a CT scan next week to investigate the possible cause. Anyone out there with a similar experience? Doc said most likely whatever the cause, it will take another surgery to correct. :-( We're due to move across the country in 5 weeks, and it cannot be postponed (we already delayed an overseas move that eventually was cancelled due to my TAH).

Re: Swelling and Pain - almost 5 months postop

We had our surgeries the same day. I am still having a problem with swelling at the end of the day and I am having right-sided pelvic pain that radiates to the right side of the top of my pubic bone. This pain comes and goes.

Keep us updated on what your CT shows and what your dr
decides to do. I wish you all the best and that whatever it is, that it is a fairly easy fix. Hugs!

I have some swelling as well, also I have some left sided pain. I dont know an easier fix/answer..but I am hoping that your CT scan gives you the reassurance and answers you need..

Re: Swelling and Pain - almost 5 months postop

I am still having swelling and pain and I had my TAV on June 17th! I too had to have a CT scan that showed nothing. Still am wearing sweat pants everywhere, even to work because I can't wear regular pants without having major discomfort by about 2:00. I was told by my doctor that it was just the healing process because I am not young anymore! Can you believe that?

I hope you are ok.....I will say a prayer that you find out what it is and you will finally feel better.

P.S. I feel better than I did last week, so time seems to be the magic bullet.
