spotting and cramps almost 2 years after hysterectomy

I had my hysterectomy about a year and a half ago. I still have one ovary and my cervix. Ever since I had the hysterectomy, I still have severe cramps and bloating. Now today I noticed I started spotting. It is light and more brownish in color, but I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen. I was just in to see my GYN about the cramps and there is nothing he can do other than pain management. Now I am concerned.

I know if you keep your cervix you can have mini periods. Even if they cauterize it, it can kinda heal itself & bleed a little bit. I am not sure what cramping you would be having since you do not have a uterus. Not sure if the cervix can cramp or not. Maybe someone will be along that knows more than me on this. I hope you feel better soon.

I'm sorry you're experiencing this but glad you've already seen your doctor. As you've now started spotting since the appointment, however, I think it would be wise to let him know.

As ((Seabutterfly1)) said, if the cervix and ovary/ies are kept, then it is possible to experience cyclical bleeding. It could be that your hormone balance has altered, triggering spotting along with the cramping/bloating. However, it may be something else entirely about which only your doctor can advise.

Will you let us know what he says? Best wishes and positive thoughts!
