Introducing myself

Hi Hystersisters;

I had my total abdominal hysterectomy just a year ago and have been feeling great until just recently. Been noticing some pulling and now pain in the vaginal area. I called my doctor and have an appt in a few days. They said that because I opted not to take HRT that my estrogen level is probably so low that I may have vaginal entropy ? and dryness and that could cause the pain. They suggest that an estrogren cream could help tremendously. I know I would probably feel better but am afraid to take HRT. Haven't really gotten into this website yet, but if anyone wants to respond and give me some tips of how to increase estrogren naturally, I would love that.

My hair has gotten to be so dry too - I look like I have witch hair! And my memory is going bonkers for the first time and I am just starting to have hot flashes. Thanks, Marge108

Re: Introducing myself

to HysterSisters!

I'm sorry that you're having problems that bring you to this site but you're not alone in what you are experiencing. Information and support on this site should help you figure out what to try that may help.

If you want to continue to be hormone therapy free, you're welcome to start a new thread on the No Ovaries - No Hormones - Managing Menopause message board. Members using that forum can't or choose not to use hormones. If you are willing to consider using hormones, post instead on the Hormone and Menopause Central message board. Either way you'll meet some wonderful Sisters.

We look forward to getting to know you!
