In my 3rd week post op and bleeding

I am in my third week now, a few days ago I started bleeding slightly, one blood clot. and now it comes and goes, very light bleeding. I am thinking it must have been this whole time but I am not sure. Is this normal to bleed slightly, I feel like I should be healing pretty well.

Re: In my 3rd week post op and bleeding

I didn't bleed, but what you are describing happened to a friend of mine that had her surgery when I had mine and she was told it was her stitches dissolving. My Dr. told me that I could expect that as well, but I didn't. She was at about the 2 - 3 week period as well. I hope this helps. She did call her Dr. though.

Re: In my 3rd week post op and bleeding

I had more of a small amount of discharge throughout my recovery. I know that sometimes it can increase as you start moving more and feeling better. I would probably check with my doc just to make sure. Sending hugs.

Re: In my 3rd week post op and bleeding

I, too, am week 3 (tomorrow, to be exact, is my 3 week hysterversary :-}). have had some increased bleeding this week, too. My Dr says that this is about the time that the vaginal sutures begin to dissolve and that sometimes, if we overdo, the incision can pull apart slightly. Be extra careful, especially when you feel good, because that's when we can create problems for ourselves. I always think that increased pain, fatigue or bleeding is my body saying "slow down!". Good to know you aren't alone, though, isn't it? Take care and REST!!!

Re: In my 3rd week post op and bleeding

I am 16 days post-op today and had bleeding (not alot...just more than I previously had) two days ago. I was feeling better and probaby did too much. I have rested the last two days and back to only spotting. I also think my body was saying "slow down!" Get some rest!

It is easy to overestimate what you think you can do. I am learning to listen to my body. Hope you are feeling better
