Pain 7 weeks post op

I am having some moderate to severe pain. I am 7 weeks out today. My doctor has already tried pyrmerdian to see if the pain is caused by my bladder. However, the trial was unsucessful. Tonight she calls me and says they are going to try a bladder relaxant in case my bladder is having spasms. I am not sure if its my bladder. The pain is there all the time, not just when I urinate or have a bowl movement. I hurt severly during and after cleaning or cooking or driving....standing and laying down still hurts. I feel like I am having mild contractions but at the same time it burns and pulls.....It never goes away, it lessens to maybe a 5-6 on a pain scale; but like I said with all activities and even sometimes still sleeping and rolling over it shoots up to a 9-10-11!!!
I don't know if its because I have an abnormally low pain tolerance. I don't know if it is because I am being a titty baby. I don't know what is going on. I am confused, I am anxious and I am tired physically and mentally.

Please if anyone can relate and tell me I am not nuts please let me know something!!!
Help and Thanks,
Crystal

Re: Pain 7 weeks post op

To start with you are NOT nuts. I do relate. If your pain is this severe and not being touched by medicines, then go to the er and tell them this. If your doc can't figure this out, she should be sending you for tests, to another doctor(a urologist perhaps?) but something needs to be done NOW for you. This is not ok that your pain is a nine or ten. And yes I also am very reactive to pain so my nine might be someone else's six but it doesn't matter. If you are in that much pain, your body is not healing. I know because that is part of my problem. Either demand to see your doc tomorrow or go to the hospital er and get help. I totally empathize with you and am hoping they can find out what is wrong and help you feel better. Sending

Re: Pain 7 weeks post op

Thanks,
The bad thing is, I am not taking any meds....just IBU 800mg....which I have been living off of since uh probably Feb seriously everyday since April. Like I stated she wanted me to take some bladder relaxant.....I need to go pick them up. I am not sure if its my bladder because the pain is there whether I am going potty or not.... I don't want to go to the er because I am afraid they will say well you need to see your gyn there is nothing for us to do....My next appointment is not for two more weeks. I called her threes times this pass week finally got an answer...She is awesome, I just don't know if she is getting my messages, I am a pain in the butt apparently!! Anyways, thank you for your suggestions. Maybe I can get in next week versus waiting another week. My husband developed a theory, he thinks my pelvis is having sympathy pains since my uterus is gone. Now I truly think I am nuts...but you said you are still having pain so maybe I am not!!!!!! Like you said, I hve a very low threshold for pain. I don't ever get hurt, this is my first major anything!!! So I don't know how to handle it!! I am a crazy baby!!! hehehehe Thanks so much

Re: Pain 7 weeks post op

You need to go to the ER immediately or find another doctor quickly! You should not be in this much pain seven weeks out. I am 7 weeks plus out and I will be going back to work next Wed. I still feel tenderness at times, and some pulling, sporatic knife like twinges( stitches dissovling, organs moving around into empty space), have minor gas and constipation issues. However, I am not in constant severe pain. Your ER should not tell you to see your doctor. They should check you out and run tests. Keep us posted,

Re: Pain 7 weeks post op

Munchkin,
You are not being a baby about this. Pain is your body's way of telling you that something is WRONG!!! It should never be this high and not getting better. I totally agree with Chanel to go to er or call doc on call and get some advice. As I had said before, I do have a sensitivity to pain but it still is being addressed and we are getting it down more. I was put back in hospital at about seven weeks post op due to severe and continuous pain. It turned out I had Hepatitis A which was causing severe abdominal pain. I hate going to the er but if the pain is still this severe, please go. I know that when my body is in pain, there is a reason. I do not think you are being a baby about this. You had major surgery and there are possible complications. You need to see the doctor ASAP. Sending hugs and best wishes.

Exactly Zeny....major surgery and possible complications, therefore; this pain needs to be checked out ASAP. Zeny, Sorry, you had problems, too. Hope your are feeling better!

Re: Pain 7 weeks post op

Hi, gals! I am new to this so - here is my advise - the ER sounds good. I know that it sounds like you think it is over doing it but you have to take care of you. On top of my hyster issues I have deprssn issues and I feel like not asking for help and Feel like I am the pain in the butt!! You know what - you are important and you are valuable and you need to take care of you!! So...ask your husband, your friend, to drive you to the ER and lay it all on the table for the DRs and Nurses and they will chek you out. It has taken me a long time to learn that I am important and my pain is not over lookable. Neither is yours!! I still have some of that sharpish pain and my dr is talking about doing an ultrasound when go in next wk. Just to sure. So....get giong. You are worth it!! I'll be watching to hear how you are doing!! Bless you!
