Popped a stitch

Popped a stitch tonight..4 days out from recotcele surgery. Had some bright red bleeding but doc said not to worry unless it gets heavier and doesnt stop...I just am worried that I will mess up all the work she did. I want it to heal well. Anyone else pop any stitches this early after surgery. Should I be concerned?

Re: Popped a stitch

I didnt splint the area when I had a bowel movement and I think the pressure made one of the stitches pull out. I am not bleeding from that spot now but I surely am sore there. I will be sure to splint the area everytime I have a BM now till it heals

Re: Popped a stitch

I had rectocele surgery on Sep 27th and a week later was wiping and there was a stitch. I freaked because I thought it was way too early and like you want everything to heal well. My doctor said to keep it clean and dry, use a hairdryer, to prevent infection. I haven't had any other issues and everything seems fine.

I think I messed myself up driving too soon, I had zero bleeding, then went on a joy ride to supper supplements, came home feeling wierd and found blood. My biggest fear is failed results. keep me posted>?

Re: Popped a stitch

sdlady..i dont think you messed up anything..maybe you just had increased discharge because you over did it. Was it bright red blood or pinkish. I have been out and about in the car..as a passenger not as driver quite a few times since my surgery last week, I cant handle this cabin fever and I have an increase in discharge when I am up and about alot during the day but no bright red bleeding like the night I popped the stitch.
