Back to LIFE????

So I am wondering at what point can you get back to life , like lifting things , My Granddad is starting to paint in his house now that the fire damage is cleaned up and repaired , I need to be there to help him but I don't know what I can and can not do!!! How much is to much to lift? What CAN I do? I will be 9 weeks out on Tuesday..I have been pushing things around with my feet but I just feel SO USELESS!!!!

Re: Back to LIFE????

Did your Dr not tell you? I was told at 5 wks all lifting restrictions were done, which I needed to know for work. Your Dr should provide you with that info, based on your situation and healing. I'm sure a phone call would do. I've noticed a lot of Drs seem to not be specific, but I asked specifically to be sure. Call Mon and with luck you'll get the go ahead.

Re: Back to LIFE????

Be careful please! I am 9.5 weeks and had a set back because I cleaned, mopped, vaccumed, organized closets, and hubby wanted intimacy last night. Needless to say---------Bright red blood.
Ask your Dr. as every one heals different but for the remainer of my 6 months to year I'm taking it easy because I did feel so much better but do not over do anything.

Re: Back to LIFE????

Veronica: I have been lifting since I completed my second week but really it's so easy as everyone has said to overdo that I have totally backed off and lift only when there is no one else to do it. It's exhausting! -Pam

Re: Back to LIFE????

My Dr. cleared all my lifting restrictions at my 6 week check but with all your set backs it would be advisable to check with your Dr. for your specific situation.
