heel pain - surgery related?

After surgery my doctor asked if I had any leg pain and I didn't. But now, 9 days post-op I am starting to have heel pain in both feet but more in my right foot which is also the side I have more pain in my abdomen. Can this be related to surgery?

Hi Karen, I had plantar fasciitis in both heels before surgery and needed to keep them stretched to be pain free. Basically it is a tendon issue - hurts really bad when you first get up or after rest. I had a flare up right after surgery mainly because I was so inactive. Once I started my short walks and stretching again I was fine. I would check with your doc if it is bothersome since it may or may not be that and just to be safe.

I have mild lupus which doesn't give me much problems but now that you mention tendons, I thought perhaps this could be related to my lupus, that causes me different aches and pains in muscles and tendons once in a while.

I had a TAH with BOS three weeks ago. I am sitting here with pains in both heels, which is something I've never experienced before. I never thought it could be related to surgery. I will have to discuss this with my doctor as well.
