Question about intimacy

Granted I can ask my doctor BUT my appt. is in a week and a half..So here goes!
Ok , My first question is , When did you allow your hubby to "finish up" inside of the vagina? I have not had any spotting in about 5 days so I allowed my hubby this morning , I still have no spotting or any pain so I am guessing it is Ok??? I am not sure if it can still cause any kind of infection?? Your thoughts???
Second Question , I am 10 weeks out and am kind of ready to do something other than missionary , What other positions are safe to do and will not cause any kind of tearing( my god I am scared of something tearing) and is any kind of rough type activity out of the question still being only 10 weeks out???
And my last question , Oral sex..What do you think??? Please don't be offended , I figure how would we know if we do not ask...and I feel more comfortable asking you all then anyone else at this point...Thanks in advance! We need a forum made just for sex type questions..LOL

Re: Question about intimacy

I was cleared for everything at 6 wks...just take it slow was the approach that was recommended. Also, it was stated that if there is pain then back off. I have had no problems. If I remember correctly, you had a clot issue before. But you haven't had any issues related to that recently, right? You should be good to go at 10 wks.

Re: Question about intimacy

Asking your doctor is always a good idea, even if you have to call! Your doctor is the medical professional who knows your situation best! Additionally, what is okay for me might not be okay for you and vice versa. Only your doctor can give you the correct answers for you!

It is normal for ladies to have questions and concerns when returning to intimacy following a hysterectomy so you are not alone with your concerns and questions. While we do we allow discussion regarding intimacy on the site, everyone needs to keep in mind that HysterSisters.com does have a PG guideline. We ask that posts not be "obscene, profane, sexually explicit or descriptively graphic. Posts with sexual content should have a tone of maturity and appropriate vocabulary."

This does mean that posts regarding sexual positions and details are not allowed. We suggest ladies check ivilliage.com for this type of information.

Re: Question about intimacy

Wonderwoman,,,I would only imagine a doctor would approve sex ONLY when he/she felt that there would be NO complications from it, i.e infections and/or tearing. That is my understanding the whole reason for waiting in the first place. For example, when I went at 7 weeks, the doctor said that I didnt have enough suctures that were well enough dissolved, that they seemed pretty well still intact, BUT I should be ok in another 2 weeks. I am guessing that internally by the 10-12 week mark that majority of healing has taken place and most concerns are no longer in the fore front. Now as for the other positions to have sex, I would think you should be able to do anything, so long as you are comfy and it is not causing any pain or discomfort. Like you had suggested to me a while back, just no swinging from the chandeliers right away,,,test the waters first and see how you are feeling. I do believe that I had read a while back also that the cuff does stretch, so I cant imagine "him" reaching it to the point of pain...again, if things get a little more frisky stop if it starts to get uncomfy. Now, as for the oral,,,again, if the doctor worried about infection I dont believe that they would have cleared you,,,,my only concern all the time was feeling clean prior,,and I dont know about you or anyone else,,,,but I feel like I have alot of discharge now,,,way more than before surgery,,,how about you? I think I will definately need to "pause" and rewash to feel comfy. good luck and keep us posted,,,,and yes I agree we should have a forum just for sex,,AND just for the good stories.

Re: Question about intimacy

Oh Berriesncream - I know. I've always had a very HIGH libido and it sucks to wait but I know that is why my doctor spent all those years in med school and residency and why she gets paid the big bucks because she knows what she's talking about. I'd rather wait than have a set back to make me have to wait even longer.
