Hi - I am 11 days post-op TLH/RSO. (My left tube and ovary were removed during surgery as an infant.) I'm on an estrogen patch and so far, no problems with that.
I have 4 small incisions that are covered in clear tissue adhesive/glue. Can anyone tell me how long it takes the "glue" to dissolve? The skin around my insicions is really itching. I am sure part of it is due to the incisions healing, but I really feel like the glue is irritating my skin as well. Any comments??
Mine said at two weeks I can start "working it off" with e-oil. The e-oil made it soft and gooey like pulling dried elmer's glue off. Just said if any irritation or any spot that sticks or hurts or scabby just to leave it.
If it's starting to itch, that means you're healing, so that's a good sign. I have my Da Vinci partial hyster (removed uterus and left ovary) 11 days ago, 3 out of 5 incisions are still glued together. As you shower, the glue will kinda clump up and wash off. I've been putting vitamin E on as well, hoping that it will keep me from scaring. Don't rush it. I'm assumming the longer you have the glue, the better.
