Surgery in June, incisions sites still sore?
Hi all,
I had an LAVH in June, everything was removed except one ovary. I have been feeling great -- like a new woman! I'm a little bothered because I still have soreness in one of my incision sites. It only bothers me when I touch it or lean up against something, but it hurts like a bad bruise. Anyone else experience this? Should I call my doc?
Thanks for your advice.
Amy

 AES -
Glad to hear that most things have gone very well for you.
Is there any chance that it could be some nerves still healing? It might be worth just a question to your Dr.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help but wanted to send
G.

Re: Surgery in June, incisions sites still sore?
Hi there,
Just to let you know that my incision still hurts at times too and I'm 5 months post op..I guess this is quite normal..my scar itches too down near the end of the scar now too so it must be moving towards the end of healing on the outside..not sure about the inards!!

Re: Surgery in June, incisions sites still sore?
Hello ladies!
Just adding my voice to the list... I'm 4 months post op (TAH/BSO) and feeling 98% normal! My incision site is still a little sore too, and occasionally itchy. I also get the odd fleeting stabbing pain, as if there's a pin caught in my clothes and it's dug in to my abdomen. As my incision's healed well, I can only put it down to the nerves regenerating. We have quite a few different types of nerve endings in our dermal layer that respond to pain, heat, pressure, light touch, vibration, etc; my theory is that as the different types of nerves are growing and healing they 'mis-fire' and the brain interprets the signal as pain, heat, itching, etc.
Just my humble opinion/guess...
Hope you're all continuing to heal well and loving your new lease of life!
Lou
