13 months Post OP LAVH, bleeding--Update: prolapsed fallopian tube
wow! what the heck is going on? I had my LAVH on 9/30/09 and it was a super simple, easy, no pain or bleeding recovery. I kept my ovaries, but took my uterus and cervix.
I made a comment to my daughter yesterday about the 2 zits on my chin (YUCKY on a 40 yr old!!) and told her this would be my "cycle" time
Well, when I went to the bathroom this morning, there was pink on the tissue. Then again a few times thru out the day?
Is something wrong with me? My doctor retired last December, so I cant exactly call him.
HELP! please

Re: 13 months Post OP LAVH, bleeding now?HELP!! NEED ADVICE!
I suggest that you find a new doctor and make an appointment. For peace of mind, you need to find out what is causing this bleeding.
Keep us posted. Good luck and hugs!

Agree with finding a new doc. You will still need a GYN for breast exams and such. Hopefully you will get some answers.
And I know what you mean about the zits! I have more problems with them now, in my 40's than I did in my teens!

Prolapsed fallopian tube
Hi !
I posted a month ago that I had a blood like discharge and I am a year post-op.
i FINALLY found a new doc and went to see him today. Of course he did a vaginal exam, since I have this problem everyday in November.
The exam was quite painful and I heard him tell the nurse he see's tissue and it looks vascular. He got out one of those HUGE Q-tips and started prodding around in there. I nearly flung off the table in the worst pain I have ever felt. (reminded me of my cervix biopsy a few years ago) and when he took it out, it was soaked in bright red blood.
Anyhoo, he came back in and said he suspects my fallopian tube is prolasped and it is coming down thru the vaginal wall opening, or something along those lines. We then discussed the bladder isuues I have had since my LAVH and he refered me to the Urologist. He said I will have to have an out patient surgery to repair this. And depending on what the Urologist says, I might need to have some sort of bladder tacking done? He said they can do both at the same time.
Does anyone know how long the recovery time is Post-OP for these procedures? I am hoping its just a few days? I cannot afford to take too much time off of work, again.
He told me that in the meantime, I will continue to bleed and if needed I can use a tampon.
Life's Grand, eh?

Re: 13 months Post OP LAVH, bleeding--Update: prolapsed fallopian tube
Wow. All I can say is wow. I'm sure you never thought a year later this would be a problem. I know what you mean about the biopsy, I "tried" to have one in the office, not for my cervix but my uterus and it was unbelievably painful, I guess because the fibroid was pushing at the opening. I threw up after the visit. So I'm glad I'll have no more of those. But I suppose those of us who have our fallopian tubes are at risk of something like this.
I heard on Dr. Oz that in europe the trend is to routinely removed the tubes along with the hyster because they find it reduces ovarian cancer. It will probably be the norm in the states also, eventually.
I am so sorry for your pain and problems. Think about the day you'll feel better, after this is fixed. As far as recovery time, I have no idea, but I imagine it will be very quick with lap surgery to just grab the tubes and remove them. Tacking the bladder at the same time I suppose will prevent a lot of problems for you in the future, that I'm sure many of us are headed for, since bladder issues are common post hyster.
Also, from what I understand, there are urogynecologists, which is a specialty that handles both issues at the same time.
