Can't Empty Bladder All The Way - Catheter

I had a TAH with bladder sling on October 29th. I came home with a catheter because I could not empty my bladder all the way. Can anyone tell me how long this usually lasts? Thank you

Re: Can't Empty Bladder All The Way - Catheter

Did they tell you how much output they expect before they remove the catheter? Generally they expect a certain amount of urine in the bag to show that your bladder is doing what its suppose to do

The bladder has been moved around during surgery and it maybe be bruised or asleep...drink plenty of fluids to help restore the function and to increase your output

good luck
