Blood clot with Da Vinci surgery

I was wondering can you still get blood clot after surgery. What are the signs of blood clot in you legs? And can you get blood clot even if you had the Da Vinci surgery. It's funny for the past four weeks I was bleeding while I pee. Dr said I did too much rest. Well out of the blue I stopped like I never bleed before. I was happy but the next day my legs start hurting . They feel like I have been running and my calfs hurt. Today while I was shopping I had to come Hm due to not able to stand anymore . Should I be worry? It's been three days already and yesterday I felt like I had the flu and hubby said my face look red. I was thinking I was having hot flashes. Do I need to call my dr.

If there is any concern that you have a blood clot you should call your doctor.

Re: Blood clot with Da Vinci surgery

Blood clots are a risk with any surgery, not just a hysterectomy or a specific type of hysterectomy.

Please contact your doctor or ASAP about your concerns. A blood clot in the leg, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), is a life threatening condition and needs to be treated immediately.

(((whatsup)))

Way better to be safe than sorry for sure!

And, even if the problem is not a blood clot, hopefully you can be given some pain meds to help with the pain issues.

in there and keep us posted!

Re: Blood clot with Da Vinci surgery

My dr finally call while I'm here waiting , I was told he thinks my leg pain has nothing to do with my surgery since the Di Vinci kind has low outcome in blood clot He said it might be something else. I was like what? He said I really didn't have to be at the ER but if I need to check it out go ahead .

Re: Blood clot with Da Vinci surgery

Please make sure that you get fully checked out. There was a worse case scenario in our extended family last month. Ask what blood clots symptoms are. If you have those symptoms, and they don't think that it is a blood clot..ask why. I am not trying to scare you, just be diligent.

Re: Blood clot with Da Vinci surgery

Plmccorn,

Thanks I will ask the dr here in ER. I'm already in a room. Now just waiting for them to take blood and give me some pain meds. I just feel like I'm crazy and that I should be fine by now since I had the Di Vinci surgery. But I did have surgery and I had two surgeries in 4 months. One was day surgery and then the other is Di Vinci surgery that was over night stay. I'm just so tired.

Re: Blood clot with Da Vinci surgery

Hi! Hope this is all resolved for you by now but just wanted to add my two cents because at about 4.5 weeks I told my gyn about the pain in my calf that had been bothering me for two weeks that I couldn't imagine was related to the surgery. He immediately sent me to the hospital for ultrasound and sure enough, I had a small DVT. Please make sure that you are thoroughly checked. My doctor said that it was very rare for a davinci patient to get a a clot but of course I was one. Take care!
