Re: Doctor gave new options (very confused)

The bleeding might stop - sure, but any pain that you have from the underlying reason for the hysterectomy may not go away. If you have fibroids or endomitriosis....that stuff will continue to grow. Also - if you do hormone replacement afterwards....I think it would still play the role of the ovaries & you may still have the bleeding to contend with.

I'll be interested in reading what other sisters say .....this is a first for me as I've never heard this before!!

Re: Doctor gave new options (very confused)

Hi LoriB - I'm sorry to hear that you are still overwhelmed with decisions. Was this the same doctor that diagnosed you with PCOS and fibroids?

It is very overwhelming getting through all of this, but please keep focussing on the symptoms that you are having surgery for, and what your specific options are. If you need to, please seek another opinion. Get your surgeon to write things down for you if that will help, so that you can refer back to it, and ask further questions.

Hang in there! Not only do you want to get through this for yourself but you also mentioned wanting to be your healthiest self for your foster kids. You are strong and you can do this! Be your own best advocate - push to have all your questions answered just as you would if it was one of your foster kids.

You can do this, one step at a time and with lots of support and hugs from all of us!
