Itchy hands and Feet ???

I am 4 weeks post op from hysterctomy and 2 weeks post op from having to be restitched. This week I have EXTREME itching on my palm of hands and feet. It feels like a fire tingly itch. No rash no bug bites. I am anemic from the loss of blood from second surgery so I didnt know if this has something to do with it. But it is driving me CRAZY!!!! Anyone else had/have this or any suggestions???

Re: Itchy hands and Feet ???

I get itching from medications sometimes and foods. Benadryl has helped me the most.

Re: Itchy hands and Feet ???

OMG! When I was 2 weeks post-op, I woke up one morning and the bottoms of my feet were itchy. I couldn't stop rubbing them together. They were really pink and hot, but like you, no bites or anything. Maybe a little dry from wearing flip flops every day, but no apparent rashes or anything.

After two days of trying benadryl cream, I finally went to my dermatologist and they gave me a steriod cream. It stopped the almost instantly and made it go away after a day or so. By the way, I was not on any pains meds at the time.

How weird? And, here I am thinking that I was allergic to a new cleaner that I had used to clean my shower with. Call your doctor or dermatologist.

Re: Itchy hands and Feet ???

I am so glad I decided to look on our hystersister website.... I have itchy hands and feet.... it is horrible... I have taken benadryl yesterday..and today...first thing when I woke up... I have no idea why this is happening... I am 4 weeks post op and this has been going on for about 3 days now... it is incredible.. I think my husband thinks I am crazy... he looked at me funny when he got home from work yesterday and I told him that this is insane... I am STILL ITCHING!! The benadryl helped for several hours... although while sleeping there is no problem..as soon as I wake in the morning...it becomes a nightmare... what the heck is going on. and also.. I had TVH (kept overies) I have not seen any stiches come out yet....?? any clues on that one... could it be connected to the itching...?? its crazy. HELP.

Re: Itchy hands and Feet ???

Laura,
I sent you a msg but also if it gets really bad your doc can give you a steroid shot that stops it usually the next day. Also heat made it alot worse for me. Sorry to go on and on in my msg but I know how aggravating the itching was

Re: Itchy hands and Feet ???

My entire body itched after the surgery. It was disgusting, I just sat around and scratched myself all day. The only thing that helped was starting the Premarin.
