Pre-op appt today

I just got back from my pre-op appt. It went rather well & now the waiting for the day at the castle. I will be having a LSH/BSO. I need to be at the hospital by 6:15 am & will have 1 overnight stay (2 or more if needed). As for the bowel prep, I was told to take 4 Dulcolax & Mirolax mixed in 32 oz of Gatorade then another 4 Dulcolax. I guess it sounds better then drinking some of that other nasty stuff. I asked about HRT as I haven't fully decided for or against yet. I was told it is recommended due to my age (34) & that if I choose HRT it will be in patch form.

So, now that my surgery is getting close I need to get lots together as well as get my house ready for Thanksgiving dinner with both families. I have gotten a head start on some of the baking & my step-mother-in-law is bringing the turkey so nothing too bad. I should be able to have most prepared beforehand & just heat 'n serve. Then I plan to get some resting & organizing done over the weekend & finally off to the castle!

Re: Pre-op appt today

Ironranger,
It sounds like you are prepared for Thanksgiving...that is great! My husband and mom are taking care of details this year. My husband however is a good cook so no worries there.
My bowel prep was an enema the morning of so that was great for me. I tried to eat light the day before because I didn't want to deal with constipation afterwards.
I had LAVH/BSO so I was placed on Vivelle dot .1 and at 44 yrs of age, I can tell you that the hot flashes are something else. Not painful of course, just catches you totally off guard. I keep all ceiling fans on and pull covers over me for warmth, then kick them all off when it hits. I also prefer a gown because I find that it is cooler.
Wishing you all the best on your surgery!
