I have been told I am delivering two grapefruits.... does anyone know how much these things weigh? I feel like I am walking around with a bowling ball inside? Anyone else feel like this?

Hi Anita!

I am sorry I don't know anything about fibroids, but I have copied 3 links from the thread of various links at the top of the page here that may help with your question. I am sure there will be ladies coming along soon with some first hand knowledge for you as well.

how much can fibroids weigh?

I'm sure it can vary a lot, but I had just one fibroid. It was 11.5 cm. and it and my uterus weighed over 600 grams (that's about 2 pounds)!

how much can fibroids weigh?

Don't know what the record is. I had two huge tumors, one over 8 lbs and the other over 4. But mine grew very fast.

how much can fibroids weigh?

Interesting question!!

My batch of assorted fruit and sports equipment weighed in at just a shade over eight pounds. Not the easiest 8 lbs I've ever lost, but definitely the best!!

I do remember reading that fibroids can vary in density, so that may account for differences in weight.

at least you have fruit!

I won't know until next Wed (11/14) how much my fibroid will weigh, but my uterus is a 6 month pregnancy size. I was a grapefruit size a few months ago, but it seems as if some aliens came and nuked my tummy! It has been growing really fast. Your right about the feeling though, I feel as if there is a bowling ball sitting in my stomach. My fibroid used to feel smooshy but it is hard now. I'll let you know how much the sucker weighs next week.

how much can fibroids weigh?

Doctor said my uterus plus fibroids weighed 700 grams or about two pounds. My uterus was like a five-month pregnancy. My tummy does look smaller as a result. I didn't notice the smaller tummy right away due to swelly belly and besides that I was too sore to care. Maybe about 4 weeks post op I could see the difference.
