TAH tomorrow, nervous and still have sniffles

So it is finally kicking in that I am having surgery tomorrow! I have had major surgery before, so I think I have known what to expect and havent given it much thought...now i am starting to worry :-)

I have had a cold for a week (and my kids are all sick as well) The dr. office said as long as my snot was clearish and i had no fever or coughing up stuff they would go ahead...so far so good...but who wants to have surgery when one nostril is clogged. UGH. We have family driving down from Canada to take care of the kids for a week, so rescheduling would be awful...not to mention we need to get it done by the end of the year for insurance reasons....

Praying I can stay down today and kick this cold once and for all....and not let my mind get too worried!

Heres to everyone else having thanksgiving in the hospital this week!

make sure you have a nostril type decongestant if they let you! i was like that going in for one of my deliveries and it was a godsend! good luck

Get losts of and drink lots of water and juice..(juice only if you are allowed to today).

elderberry is good to take too, i had the sniffles before mine that were miraculously gone when i came out of anethesia

I am going in for surgery in the morning too and I too have a cold (and an ugly cold sore to accompany it) My husband sleeping in other room for 4 nights as he is coughing all night ....and he never gets sick!
Just wanted to wish you luck as we will both be in hospital for Thanksgiving...so have a happy one. Here is wishing you all the best with surgery also.

I am right there with you tomorrow.....so as they are hooking me up to my IV's my prayers will be for smooth surgery for ALL of my 24 Nov sisters.

Blessings on you and healing, I have been fighting a stomach bug for two days and really hoping I kick it in time to get a good night sleep. Looking forward to seeing you all in the post-op groups! Praying for us all!
