Is Chiropractic Adjustment OK?

I'm in my 8th week of recovery and wondering if going to the chiropractor is OK. My chiropractor does the cervical specific adjustments and the table he uses moves when he adjusts your back and neck. I can tell my hips are off and would really like to go but don't want to do damage as I'll have to lay on my stomach when being "adjusted".
Thanks, ladies!

Re: Is Chiropractic Adjustment OK?

OMG I was just about to post the same question!!! I'm 5 weeks post op today and my lower back is killing me. I would love to see my chiropractor but I'm not sure about laying face down on the chiro table and having him do all that pushing and adjusting. Plus I had mesh put in to hold up my pelvic prolapse which is anchored somewhere around my tail bone. I hope some sisters come and tell us what they know!!!

Re: Is Chiropractic Adjustment OK?

The very least you can do is call the chiropractor and see what he says. I would think that by 8 weeks it would be ok. Just give him (or her) a call and see what they think.

Re: Is Chiropractic Adjustment OK?

I went at roughly 6 weeks post op....he was able to adjust me without me having to lay on my back....and he was able to twist me gently enough that it did not cause pain in my incision...made my back, neck and hips feel so much better!

Re: Is Chiropractic Adjustment OK?

I had a whiplash injury i was seeing the chiro for prior to surgery. I went back at 3 wks and yes they were careful and did not do much lower body work.

Re: Is Chiropractic Adjustment OK?

I got readjusted by my chiropractor with my doctor's blessing at 6 weeks. My chiropractor told me that I am not the first person that he has adjusted who just had a hysterectomy. Huh??
