new hyster sister

I've been researching/reading this site for weeks now, prior to my surgery. This past Monday, Nov. 29, 2010 I had a TAH, with everything removed. The pain in the incision is minimal. I am in and out of bed, recliner, etc. The part that is KILLING my is my emotions. It is hard to explain----I feel like I am crawling out of my skin! I cannot sit still in one potsition for longer than 5 minutes. I then have to get up and walk the floor. Then sit down again, and the cycle begins all over again. I HONESTLY FEEL LIKE I AM LOSING MY MIND! I called my dr on Thursday. He prescribed Estriadol for me to take once a day. This is day 3 of taking it....no relief. Am I not giving it enough time? Is this normal?any suggestions? I feel so alone....no one understands!

Re: new hyster sister

Sorry that you are having these issues. I think you will need to give the hormones more time.

Re: new hyster sister

Thank you for your responses! I am thinking you are right....just needing to give the hormones more time. I have taken myself off of the hydrocodone and am alternating between acetaminophen and ibuprofen. Maybe this will help!!!

Re: new hyster sister

I had a friend who had terrible nightmares on percocet. It cleared up pretty quickly when she changed meds.

Re: new hyster sister

I had some interesting/bizarre/nightmare dreams while on Percocet, and had a hard time getting my legs and feet comfortable when laying down. It all got better once I went off the Perco and started taking Tylenol.

Re: new hyster sister

hope you feel better soon!! I didn't have my ovaries taken out, so I can't relate to the hormonal part, but I did have issues with the pain meds making me feel restless and pretty loopy.. so I stuck to ibuprofen and tylenol... hope the hormone meds kick in soon and help you out with your feelings of "stir crazyness"!!

Happy healing!!
