Still in Pain 9 Mos PostOp

Thank you for taking the time to read this....new to the site and already it's very encouraging and helpful!

In March '10 I had a full hyst, lap. for fibroids and scar tissue.
The pain started almost a year ago and 9 months after surgery I'm still in pain. Each of three different DRs have pointed the finger at different things which didn't result in finding the cause.

Today both my husband and I thought that it could be scar tissue (I have no problems w/ BMs, urinating or sex), just a constant pain that moves around my entire abdominal area.

I'm on HRT which still isn't right and I see another DR on Tues. about that issue.

I did read that castor oil and a heating pad will get rid of scar tissue - is that true? I've been on pain meds for a year now and would love to live pain-free!

Any & all suggestions are more than welcome!
Thank you ~~~~

Re: Still in Pain 9 Mos PostOp

Sorry to hear of your dilemma. I am 5 months after a LAVH and bladder sling operation and still in pain myself.

I did have complications, resulting in an emergency operation and a lot of blood all over inside my abdomen. Then I developed an intestinal infection which required several rounds of antibiotics.

I have blamed my pain on all of the above, and scar tissue as well. Like you, I have had different answers from different doctors, and I have been on narcotic pain meds for a long time.

Last visit, my primary care doctor wanted to get me off of the narcotic pain meds, and gave me a prescription for gabapentin, which I am still getting used to. It's not for everyone, but it seems to be helping for me. I've cut back on the other pain meds dramatically. You might ask your doctor about it.

Best wishes on your journey, I hope you find a solution soon.
