infection 2 weeks post op

Oh boy this hurts! one of my incissions is infected and draining yucky stuff. I called my doctor and she called me in a prescription and told me to put a warm wet towel on it to draw out the stuff and if it isn't better by monday another trip to her office. That is 3 hours from home. not looking forward to that. but I would rather be safe than sorry.
on a different note, I just went to my 2 week post op on tuesday and she said I still can't lift or vacuum. just smaal chores around the house and short drives, like to town and home. I still require several naps a day and pain meds. I keep telling myself it is worth it lol. I am having some hot flashes too. I will be glad when my ovaries kick in. The doc says that if I am still having them she will try somethig to help. Anyway I hope all you gals are recovering well.

Re: infection 2 weeks post op

I hope you feel better soon. Somewhere between week 2 and week three, I managed to cross that hurdle and started gaining strength back. Now that you are fighting an infection, you're body is working double time, one for the inside recovery and now for the outside. Take those naps and give your body time to work hard while you rest.

Many hugs! I've had a yeast infection in week 2, vaginosis week 3, and UTI in week 4......I'm just to curious what week 5 holds for me.

Re: infection 2 weeks post op

thank you ladies so much. I am on bactrim and I know yeast infection is next but I will be ok. My DH says this is what happens when I don't do as the Doctor ordered, lol. He is referring to me picking up my new grandbaby. he was born November 29th and weighed 9 lbs. we got to see him for the first time monday December 6th and weighed 10lbs 6 oz. I couldn't just look at him, I had to pick him up. Walk him around and talk to him. That is what nanas do.
