Re: Clear liquid diet

Congrats on your successful surgery! As regards to your clear liquid diet, I didn't have any eating restrictions after my TAH. Did your doctor tell you why you need to be a clear liquid diet? Soups, juices and jellos ....Hang in there..Tuesday is just a few days away...

Re: Clear liquid diet

It probably has something to do with my uterus being attached to my bowel and they had to peel it apart. I know I need to be good. Everything I have read on this site has been so helpful!

Re: Clear liquid diet

They brought me a lunch as soon as I came out of surgery. I am not kidding. I got up to my room about 1130 and in came the nurse with a lunch tray. I was like um yeah, that ain't happening. I think I managed to eat a roll.

That sounds rough I cant imagine being on a liquid diet for that long. Can you have ensure? I think I would have made them keep me in the castle on IV fluids and pain meds to make me sleep. Good luck I dont think I could do it.

Oh you poor thing! I was like HUH? I was on liquids one day...but now this makes sense.

Try herb OX chicken broth. They gave that to me in the hospital, and your body thinks it is a whole chicken dinner. NO joke!

We had to start using it at home it was so good. Now, we throw some noodles in there but if you can have jello too, that would be a steal if you're starving.
