an abdominal binder, do I need one?

Does everyone need one of these? I'll (well, not me...the surgeon) will be using a portion of my previous abdominal incision that runs hip bone to hip bone. So I won't have a verticle. I didn't have any sutures or binder for that surgery. Wondering how this will be different?

Re: an abdominal binder, do I need one?

It's really a personal preference. I was given one in the hospital and did not find it comfortable, so I did not use it. Other ladies find the binder very helpful others like the support panties. I don't think you will know until after the surgery. Best of luck with your surgery.

Re: an abdominal binder, do I need one?

Hi

I LOVE my binder. It has helped my get back to life quicker. I was in a lot of pain until I put it on (10 days post surgery). I wish I had it from the beginning. I am 2 weeks out now and am feeling good. By Dr. is happy with my progress and is letting my start to do things. I had a TAH so feel good about where I am at.

Good luck!!
